Drawing
The drawings are made with 100% cotton paper from a small mill in Aurangabad, India
that is over 400 years old. The paper is not a repository for the ink, but rather has a life of its own. It is an active surface with its own story onto which I place my line. The lines, both fine and weightier, must be completed in an instant and must "sit." Each drawing either succeeds or fails--completed in the moment and for all moments, or consigned to trash. Drawing is a radical art.
